Apr 24, 2012 (newstodate): Air Moldova is to open its fourth destination in Russia this summer.
New to come are flights from June 14 till September 27, 2012, on the route between Chisinau, Moldova, and Surgut, in Russia, to be served once weekly with Embraer E-190 aircraft.
Air Moldova will thus compete with code share-partner UTAir that is already operating flights on the same route.

The new route will add Air Moldova's 23rd destination from Chisinau, already serving routes to Frankfurt, Vienna, Bucharest, Istanbul, Lisbon, Madrid, London, Athens, Larnaca, Rome, Milan, Verona, Paris, Moscow, St Petersburg, Kiev, Sochi, Antalya, Dublin, Verona, Venice and Bologna.
In March 2012, Air Moldova reported a total of 30,000 passengers, up 25 percent, y-o-y, as well as 147 tonnes of air cargo, an increase by 71 percent, compared to March 2011.
In the fleet are three Airbus A320 aircraft, one Embraer 190 and one Embraer 120.
