Apr 11, 2012 (newstodate): The Fokker 50 is seeing the end of its service life with Kazakhstan's privately-owned carrier Air Astana.
The carrier currently operates a fleet of six Fokker 50 aircraft that will now be phased out to be fully replaced by new Embraer E-190 from early 2013 already.
The first of three E-190 aircraft on firm orders will be delivered from Q2 2012, and the carrier holds options for a further three aircraft of this type.
The first five Fokker 50 aircraft entered service with Air Astana on a three-year lease contract from 2004, and a sixth Fokker 50 was added in April 2010.
