Apr 11, 2012 (newstodate): The national carrier of Bosnia and Herzegovina, B&H Airlines is deep into financial troubles and has suspended flights to more destinations.
The carrier is now serving only the route between Sarajevo and Istanbul, while flight to Zurich, Copenhagen and Banja Luka are temporarily suspended to cut costs.
Plans are to reinstate flights to Zurich via Banja Luka from April 24, 2012, while flights to Copenhagen are slated to be resumed from May 2, 2012.
Earlier partnering with Turkish Airlines, this carrier has withdrawn its Airbus A319 aircraft from B&H Airlines, leaving it with only one ATR-42 aircraft.
According to the booking systems, the carrier will increase services to Istanbul to double daily from April 25, operate five weekly flights to Zurich and three weekly services to Copenhagen, which will however require the addition of a second aircraft that is currently undergoing heavy maintenance.
