Apr 04, 2012 (newstodate): Russia's Aeroflot has now signed the acceptance papers prior to the delivery of the next Superjet 100 aircraft.
The carrier will take in its seventh Superjet 100 aircraft shortly, and plans are to build a fleet of 10 Superjet aircraft by the end of 2012, with another 20 aircraft over the next few years.
While Aeroflot is thus increasing its Superjet fleet continuously, the delivery of the second Superjet aircraft for Armavia is still pending.
Latest plans were for Armavia to take delivery of this second aircraft in Q1 2012, which also did not materialize.
The aircraft was earlier planned for delivery in November 2011, but a company spokesperson told newstodate earlier this year that the transaction was delayed "according to the formal request of the customer".
