Mar 06, 2012 (newstodate): At Lithuania's Vilnius Airport, total cargo volumes are still rather limited in growth after the first two months of 2012 but air cargo shipments are weighing in.
In February, the airport handled a total of 431 tones of air cargo, up 0.75 percent, y-o-y.
Totals included 344 tonnes of cargo and 87 tonnes of mail, with cargo rising 16 percent and mail dipping 34 percent, y-o-y.
After the first two months, the airport thus handled 854 tonnes of cargo and mail, including 659 tonnes of cargo, up 12.5 percent, and 195 tonnes of mail, down 30 percent, y-o-y.
During the first two months of 2012 air cargo has thus taken the lead with significant growth, while mail volumes are falling behind.
