Mar 16, 2012 (newstodate): Uzbekistan's Bukhara International Airport is progressing after a thorough redevelopment completed in 2011.
Equipped with a new passenger terminal commissioned in 2011, the airport handled a total of 102,000 passengers in 2011, an increase by seven percent, y-o-y, and scheduled routes connect to Moscow, St Petersburg, Baku and other destinations in the CIS region as well as domestic flights.
The new terminal has the capacity of handling up to 400 passengers per hour, three times the capacity of the old terminal.
With one 3,000m runway, Bukhara International Airport can handled aircraft up to the size of Boeing 737, Airbus A320 and Il-114-100.
