Mar 02, 2012 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic recently informed its customers of the suspension of the cooperation with Turkish Airlines as to passenger and air cargo business.
But - it actually did not have to; it turns out that Turkish Airlines had indeed itself terminated the cooperation as of October 6, 2011, already!
Turkish Airlines is already operating flights between Riga, in Latvia, and Istanbul, and the carrier is now airing ambitions for opening up flights between Istanbul and other destinations in the Baltic region, including Tallinn, in Estonia, and Vilnius in Lithuania.
As a first step, Turkish Airlines will introduce charter flights from Tallinn for an Estonian tour operator from this spring.
