Mar 19, 2012 (newstodate): Austrian Airlines is reining in its costs through an austere savings program, and the carrier will further streamline its route network with a focus on Eastern Europe.
In consequence, the carrier will retreat from serving the route from Vienna to Sweden's Gothenburg Landvetter Airport while building up instead frequencies to destinations including Sofia, Bucharest and Belgrade.
Not all routes to Eastern Europe will be maintained, though.
Flights from Vienna to Sochi and Donets will be discontinued as well from the coming schedule.
