Mar 14, 2012 (newstodate): Aeroflot is reportedly seeing problems with its Superjet 100 operations.
So far, the carrier has taken delivery of six out of a total of 30 Superjet 100 aircraft ordered.
According to Russian press reports, Aeroflot is however seeing the Superjet 100 performance marked by a low up-time ratio, measured in daily flying hours that are about 50 percent lower than expected.
This low performance is reportedly due to inadequate provisions of spare parts and components also because of their availability at only few airports.
It is common for airlines to pool their spare parts inventories to support aircraft operations, but so far only Aeroflot with six and Armavia with one aircraft are operating the new aircraft type.
