Mar 16, 2012 (newstodate): The general downturn in global air cargo is manifest also in the official statistics for Sweden's capital airport.
In January 2012, the airport handled a total of 4,435 tonnes of cargo - a drop by 28.8 percent, y-o-y.
The decline was a result of a drop by 28.9 percent in the airport's international cargo that landed at 4,298 tonnes in January 2012, compared to 6,047 tonnes in January 2011.
In January 2012, international import cargo was 1,936 tonnes, dropping 31 percent, while international export cargo fared comparatively better with 2,361 tonnes, "only" down 8.6 percent, y-o-y.
