Mar 07, 2012 (newstodate): SAS has contracted CHEP Aerospace Solutions to supply and manage its Unit Load Device requirements under a five-year contract.
Under the contract, the Swiss-based CHEP Aerospace Solutions will provide SAS with containers and pallets from its global pool of more than 45,000 ULDs, removing the cost and hassle for SAS of positioning, repairing and managing its own fleet.
The new arrangement will also allow SAS to transition to using lightweight containers supplied from CHEP Aerospace Solutions pool.
Launched in November 2011, CHEP Aerospace Solutions combines the resources of Unitpool, JMI Aerospace and Driessen Services.
CHEP Aerospace Solutions is the world's largest independent network consisting of more than 300 served airports, 42 certified repair centers and 14 regional offices worldwide.
