Thus the Group has started talks over acquisition of the German cargo airline Air Cargo Germany, based at Frankfurt Hahn Airport, and the deal is now awaiting the go-ahead from Germany's anti-monopoly authority within the coming weeks.
If cleared, the acquisition would grant the Volga-Dnepr Group with enhanced access to the European logistics markets as well as a firm basis for US-Europe freighter operations through Frankfurt Hahn Airport.
In the fleet of Air Cargo Germany, set up in summer 2009, are four Boeing 747-400 freighters while the Russian party's AirBridgeCargo operates a fleet of 12 Boeing 747 freighters including one Boeing 747-8F with four more ordered.
