Mar 08, 2012 (newstodate): Cargo volumes are rising at Latvia's Riga Airport in the first two months of this year.
A total of 991 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled at the airport in February, an increase by 9.3 percent, y-o-y.
The increase was generated by a growth by 25.4 percent, y-o-y, in mail volumes, 488 tonnes, while air cargo dropped 3.3 percent to 504 tonnes in February 2012.
During January-February 2012 the airport handled a total of 1,928 tonnes of cargo and mail, an increase by six percent.
During this two months, cargo volumes dropped 6.2 percent, y-o-y, to 967 tonnes, while mail volumes increased by 22 percent to 961 tonnes.
