Mar 29, 2012 (newstodate): The future of Serbia's national carrier JAT is again on the government's agenda.
Plans are now reportedly to attempt a sale of 50 percent of the shares in the carrier to three private Serb investors, with the state retaining the other half of the stake, sources say.
If carried through, a new privatized JAT would operate a fleet of seven aircraft, already in use, as well a a further three aircraft to be acquired.
As the current government has only few months left in office before elections on May 6, 2012, the process is expected to be completed within the coming months.
Two earlier privatization tenders ended without results, with no foreign airlines eventually placing bids on the ailing carrier.
