Mar 08, 2012 (newstodate): The negative trend in IATA export airfreight volumes continued through January 2012 in the Danish market.
A total of 5,263 tonnes of IATA export airfreight was generated in Denmark, a decline by 8.8 percent, y-o-y.
Only three IATA carriers managed to grow their volumes in January including #5 on the Top-10 list, Qatar Airways that was up 33 percent, y-o-y, to 304 tonnes, #6 on the list Cargolux with 299 tonnes, up 37.3 percent, and #9, Emirates that was up 21.3 percent to 263 tonnes.
KLM was ranked #1 with 768 tonnes, down 10.5 percent, followed by SAS, down 17.1 percent to 713 tonnes, Thai Airways, down 8.6 percent to 426 tonnes, and Lufthansa Cargo that dropped 28.4 percent to 381 tonnes.
Declining the most with a fall at 54.4 percent was Air China with 206 tonnes and placed at the bottom of the list.
Korean Air, #7, was also down 38.2 percent to 291 tonnes, as was Singapore Airlines, #8 with 288 tonnes, down 21 percent, y-o-y.
