Mar 01, 2012 (newstodate): Cargo and mail volumes were down through January 2012 at Croatia's Zagreb Airport.
A total of 494 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, down 8.7 percent, y-o-y.
Also a total of 114 tonnes of mail was handled, unchanged against same month in 2011.
In 2011 the airport handled a total of 8.111 tonnes of cargo and 1.339 tonnes of mail, almost unchanged against the preceding year.
The airport may now be heading for a new development, spurred by Aeroports de Paris that will undertake the construction of a new passenger terminal as well as a second runway, following on the tender won in February 2012.
