Mar 20, 2012 (newstodate): Cargo Center Sweden has seen volumes above normal levels in January and February 2012 - in stark contrast to the over-all two-digit decline in the country's airfreight market.
-The explanations is simple: we have succeeded in landing significant new contracts with carriers including Thai Airways, Finnair and THY Cargo, says Lars Keding, CCS managing director.
-Not least the twice-weekly THY freighter coming in from Moscow and continuing to Istanbul adds significantly to the volumes, says Mr Keding.
Hopes are now that Turkish Airlines may find the ex-Sweden volumes large enough to allow for a direct Istanbul-Stockholm-Istanbul freighter service at a later date.
