Mar 16, 2012 (newstodate): Stockholm Arlanda Airport may be looking forward to a new airline operator making its debut in the Scandinavian markets later this year.
In the pipeline are flights by the Armenian carrier Armavia aiming at start of operations between Yerevan and Stockholm from this summer.
Still unconfirmed, the carrier will reportedly also launch flights to Milan, Amritsar and Birmingham.
The expansion of the route network is supported by the delivery of its second Sukhoi Superjet 100 within the next few months, but the carrier is also mulling plans for acquisition of new, larger aircraft, probably either Boeing 737 or Airbus A320 aircraft, in addition to more Superjet 100 aircraft, sources say.
