Mar 07, 2012 (newstodate): The Armenian carrier Armavia seems to be in financial troubles that have led to a suspension of flights between Armenia and Russia.
Armavia operates flights on routes from Yerevan to Moscow and to Rostov, but flights have been suspended by Russia's Rosaviatsia due to airnav debts.
The carrier, however, has blamed Armenia's Yerevan Airport to be over-charging Armavia with excessive bills for airport services, causing the airline to run low on cash. And Armavia has even threatened to suspend all flights in a protest against the airport.
The airport and the carrier are now, however, talking to find solutions to their issues, and hopes are that flights to Russia will soon be resumed after similar negotiations with Rosaviatsia.
