Mar 26, 2012 (newstodate): In 2011, Iceland's Keflavik Airport saw its cargo volumes down by 23.3 percent, y-o-y.
A total of 26,645 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, including 17,916 tonnes of export air cargo, down 25.1 percent, y-o-y, and 8,726 tonnes of imports, down 19.1 percent.
At its peak in 2007 the airport handled 27,338 tonnes of imports as well as 32,404 tonnes of exports, in all 59,742 tonnes of airfreight.
With volumes in 2011, the airport is back to 1998-levels where a total of 25,037 tonnes of cargo was handled at Keflavik Airport.
