Feb 01, 2012 (newstodate): Uzbekistan Airways has now phased out its last remaining Soviet-built aircraft, the AN-24, that performed its last flight on January 15, 2012.
Now completed, the carrier's program for gradually phasing out its fleet of obsolete Russian aircraft was launched in 2004 and has seen the decommissioning of the fleet of IL-86, TU-154, Yak-40 and AN-24, totaling about 30 aircraft.
Instead, the airline now operates a fleet including three Airbus A310, 10 Airbus A320, six Boeing 757-200, five Boeing 767-300ER, and six IL-114-100 passenger aircraft as well as two Airbus A300-600F freighters
