Feb 28, 2012 (newstodate): While Singapore Airlines Cargo is reining in its global freighter activities, the carrier remains busy at Denmark's Copenhagen Airport.
-We have, however, suspended one of six weekly freighter flights serving the Nordic market, leaving five rotations between Singapore and Copenhagen Airport, says Kim Irmov, Singapore Airlines Cargo regional manager Nordic and Baltic region.
-The Monday flight, now suspended, mainly served to carry potential overflow from the weekend flights, and with the current market situation notably in the western direction from Singapore this flight was taken off the schedule pending a future recovery in demand.
In January 2012, Singapore Airlines Cargo held 5.5 percent of the Danish IATA export market, 3.1 percent of the Swedish market, 6.5 percent of the Norwegian market, and 3.9 percent of the Finnish IATA airfreight market.
Since October 2011, Singapore Airlines Cargo is sold in the Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish markets by the cargo GSSA Cargo Care while sales in the Danish market remains with the carrier's own office.
