Feb 16, 2012 (newstodate): Vietnam proved to be only a brief encounter for the Polish carrier LOT.
The carrier has announced the closure of the route between Warsaw and Hanoi from the end of this year's winter schedule.
The carrier launched flights on the route from November 13, 2010, offering three weekly rotations with Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, but poor business class sales resulted in lack of profitability.
Instead, the Polish carrier will look for flights to more profitable markets including China and will start operations on a new route from Warsaw to Beijing on May 29, 2012.
