Feb 09, 2012 (newstodate): Only one week after Wizz Air announced its decision to base four A320 aircraft as launch customer at Poland's new low-cost Warsaw Modlin Airport, the second operator has appeared.
Ryanair will open eight routes from Warsaw to Brussels, Budapest, Dublin, London, Milan, Oslo, Rome and Stockholm as soon as the new airport opens on July 16, 2012.
WIZZ Air's plans include the opening of a total of 19 new routes from Warsaw Modlin Airport.
Both new contracts have been negotiated by the UK-based company Airport Strategy & Marketing, a UBM Aviation brand.
Earlier serving as a Soviet military air base with a 2,500m runway, Warsaw Modlin Airport has been developed into a civilian airport to relieve pressure on Warsaw Okecie Airport.
