Feb 13, 2012 (newstodate): Estonian Air is soon to take delivery of its four Embraer E-170 aircraft.
This aircraft will be delivered before the end of February 2012, with the remaining three aircraft to follow suit in Q1.
All four Embraer aircraft are to be operated on a lease contract with Finnair that is currently in the process of streamlining its aircraft fleet.
The three Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft currently in the fleet of Estonian Air will next be phased out
-Several discussions have started, no commitments so far. We are not in
hurry to get rid of them. The target is to reach a single jet fleet type solution in next two years, says Ilona Eskelinen, Estonian Air PR Director.
Only one Boeing 737-500 will stay in the fleet until second quarter 2013
and operate mostly as a backup aircraft.
The company is currently negotiating with the manufacturer and lessors on the delivery schedules and conditions for a further eight Embraer E-175 and E-190 aircraft.
