Feb 15, 2012 (newstodate): Starting in December 2011, Lufthansa Consulting has been working with the Russian airport, Krasnoyarsk Yemelyanovo International Airport, offering its Air Service Development support product.
The two-year cooperation aims to increase passenger and cargo traffic to and from Krasnoyarsk Yemelyanovo International Airport, and the focus is especially on attracting more international airlines.
Currently, the airport is served with regular flights by more than 30 Russian and overseas carriers which connect Krasnoyarsk with 66 destinations in Russia, the Asia Pacific region and in Europe.
From January to November 2011 the airport handled 1.6 million passengers and around 16,800 tons of airfreight.
Since July 2008, the airport with a 3,700m runway has served as en-route hub for Lufthansa Cargo that was forced out of Kazakhstan by Russia in return for rights to use the Siberian airspace.
