Feb 23, 2012 (newstodate): Lithuania's Kaunas Airport is overselling its news on the Icelandic low-cost carrier's plans for flights from Keflavik Airport during the coming summer season.
On its website, Kaunas Airport reports that WOW Air will be operating weekly rotations on the route between Iceland and Kaunas, while in reality the carrier is only planning for a total of eight rotations.
WOW Air will start operations on June 11, offering two rotations in June, three in July, two in August and closing the season with one flight in September, on September 4, 2012.
Also serving the market for air traffic between Iceland and Lithuania in summer 2011 will be Iceland Express with one weekly rotation between Keflavik and Vilnius from June 26, 2012, till August 28, 2012, totaling 10 return flights.
