Feb 29, 2012 (newstodate): New competitor in the market for Polish domestic air services, OLT is now preparing to turn plans into realities.
From this spring, the carrier will open new routes from Warsaw Chopin Airport to Poznan, Rzeszow and Szczecin, and provide additional flights to Gdansk and Wroclaw.
OLT Express will gradually increase the frequency of flights on the Warsaw-Gdansk route starting April 1, 2012, aiming to increase to six daily rotations flights with A319/320 aircraft.
The airline is also planning to increase the number of flights between Warsaw and Wroclaw from two to five weekly, also using A319/320 aircraft.
As from the beginning of May, the airline will introduce twice-daily flights between Warsaw and Poznan using A320 aircraft.
Starting May 6, 2012, the airline will offer a daily service from Warsaw to Szczecin with A320 planes, and from May 16, 2012, the carrier will also launch flights on a new route between Warsaw and Rzeszow with ATR72 aircraft.
OLT Express was established in 2011 following the acquisition of a majority stake in two Polish airlines, OLT Jetair and Yes Airways, by equity fund Amber Gold.
Prior to that, OLT Jetair operated domestic and international flights with short-haul turboprop aircraft.
Yes Airways offered charter services using Airbus A320 aircraft.
