Feb 02, 2012 (newstodate): On Jan 23, 2012, Flybe Nordic launched its first flights in the Danish market.
The carrier is now offering 18 weekly rotations on the route between Copenhagen Airport and Sweden's Stockholm Bromma Airport, near the city center, using ATR-72 aircraft, and flights on the route between Copenhagen and Tallinn, in Estonia, is also to be launched in 2012.
This is, however, only the beginning of operations by Flybe Nordic in the Danish market, but the carrier is still holding its cards tightly to the body.
-As the only additional comment we would make at present, Flybe can confirm it is currently looking at a number of opportunities for possible expansion within the Danish marketplace that would include extending its services into certain major domestic destinations, says Liz Sheridan, Flybe Consumer PR Manager.
Expectations in the market are that FLybe Nordic will consider opening new routes at Billund Airport, Denmark's second-largest international airport.
Behind Flybe Nordic are Finnair and the UK-based carrier Flybe, with 40 and 60 percent of the stake, respectively.
