Feb 17, 2012 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Transaero is expected soon to place orders for the Superjet 100 aircraft.
Sources in the industry says that the carrier will order a batch of six Superjet 100 aircraft, with deliveries to start from 2015 with two aircraft per year.
Transaero is also expected to secure options for a further 10 aircraft from Sukhoi.
The carrier will use the new aircraft to build up in the short-haul sector.
If the plans come true, Transaero will become this year's first new customer for the Superjet 100 aircraft that is now also certified by EASA.
