Feb 27, 2012 (newstodate): As announced in January 2012, Finnair Cargo will suspend its freighter service between Helsinki and Shanghai from March, 2012.
Finnair Cargo launched the MD-11F all-cargo flights from June 15, 2011 to Shanghai in co-operation with the capacity provider World Airways Inc., offering two weekly rotations on the route New York JFK-Helsinki-Shanghai-Helsinki-New York JFK.
-The Shanghai freighter will now be suspended for an indefinite period as we will continue monitoring the market to see if and when conditions will allow us to resume the service, says a source within Finnair Cargo.
Finnair Cargo will, however, still provide cargo services between the two destinations utilizing the belly cargo capacity on the airline's passengers flights.
Finnair Cargo's services together with World Airways Inc on the route between New York and Helsinki will not be affected by the suspension of the onward Shanghai flights.
