Feb 17, 2012 (newstodate): The Faeroe Islands' carrier Atlantic Airways is now opening sales on its new summer route between the Faeroe Islands and Barcelona, in Spain.
The opening is facilitated by the delivery on March 28, 2012, of the carrier's new Airbus A319 aircraft that will primarily serve the trunk route connecting the Faeroe Islands and Denmark's Copenhagen Airport.
The daily rotations on the route will leave capacity allowing the carrier to launch new ventures, and the route to Barcelona will thus be operated as a weekly flight from June to August 2012, as an own scheduled route in cooperation with some travel agencies.
Other similar seasonal additions to the schedule is expected for the coming winter season.
