Dec 18, 2012 (newstodate): Russia's Ulyanovsk-based Yakutia Airlines is ready to put its first Superjet 100 into commercial service.
The aircraft was handed over to Yakutia in September 2012 and has since been configured to suit the carrier's specifications.
A second Superjet 100 may be delivered to the airline before the end of this year, and that still leaves Yakutia with options for another two Superjet 100 aircraft.
Yakutia is thus becoming the third airline to operate this aircraft type after Armavia and Aeroflot, with Indonesia's Sky Aviation following closely behind as the fourth operator, probably also before the end of 2012.
