Dec 03, 2012 (newstodate): In Russia's air cargo industry, AirBridgeCargo maintained its leading position during January-October 2012 - but did shrink in volumes as the only Top-5 cargo carrier.
ABC Airlines thus carried a total of 292,283 tonnes of cargo during the 11 months, a drop by 3.3 percent, y-o-y.
#2 on the Top-5 list of cargo carriers was Aeroflot with 159,768 tonnes and up no less than 24.7 percent, y-o-y.
#3 was Volga-Dnepr with an increase by 3.8 percent to 53,527 tonnes, followed by #4, Transaero with 52,596 tonnes and up 29.8 percent.
Finally, #5 on the list was S7 Sibir Airlines increasing 7.9 percent, y-o-y, and carrying 30,472 tonnes during the period.
Together, the top-5 carriers thus lifted 589,006 tonnes, corresponding to 73.1 percent of all air cargo carried by Russian airlines during the period.
