Dec 10, 2012 (newstodate): News have come from the planned new Lithuanian carrier AirLituanica of launch of flights in 2013.
Taking advantage of Lithuania's chairing the EU presidency in H2, 2013, the carrier will start out with flights between Brussels and Vilnius, offering nine weekly rotations.
Besides the route to Brussels, AirLituanica will also start flights on routes to Amsterdam, Brussels, Kiev, Paris and Moscow later in the year.
The carrier will be owned 34 percent by the city of Vilnius, 49 percent by a strategic investor, and 17 percent by other Lithuanian shareholders.
