Dec 06, 2012 (newstodate): Lufthansa Cargo is satisfied with the performance of Russia's Krasnoyarsk Yemelyanovo International Airport and plans to increase the volume of flights.
Krasnoyarsk is used by Lufthansa Cargo as an intermediate stop on freighter flights between Beijing, Incheon and Frankfurt, and is currently routing some 27 flights per week through the airport.
Plans are now to add another two weekly flights.
From June 1, 2009, Russia's Krasnoyarsk Airport became the technical stop-over hub for Lufthansa Cargo's freighter flights to China, replacing Astana, Kazakhstan, after efficient Russian black-mailing over trans-Sibir overflight rights.
