Dec 06, 2012 (newstodate): The Czech government is keen to sell its stake in the national carrier CSA, but earlier attempts through tenders have failed.
In September 2012, the Czech state deposited its 95.7 percent stake in the carrier CSA in Czech Aeroholding as the group's sixth subsidiary company, pending an eventual sale of the carrier.
No EU airlines have, however, approached to negotiate an acquisition of CSA.
Instead it has now been revealed that two non-EU carrier, Korean Air and Qatar Airways have expressed interest in CSA.
According to EU requirements, non-EU parties can only hold 49 percent of the stake in an EU-airline if it is still to benefit from its EU designation.
