Dec 12, 2012 (newstodate): Air cargo volumes in 2012 at Croatia's Zagreb Airport are little different from levels in 2011.
In January-November 2012, the airport handled a total of 7,132 tonnes of cargo and 118 tonnes of mail, which was down 4.5 percent in cargo and up 1.3 percent in mail, compared to 2011.
Cargo volumes in 2011 were, however, influenced by an usual volume handled in August, so the is little change in 2012, compared to last year.
Zagreb Airport however expects a new development, spurred by Aeroports de Paris that will undertake the construction of a new passenger terminal as well as a second runway, following on the tender won in February 2012.
Latest news from the airport is the re-opening after 10 years of the route between Zagreb and London Heathrow by British Airways operating a daily Airbus A319 flight from December 10, 2012.
