Dec 12, 2012 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic continues to unwrap its promised six secrets in the form of new destinations to be opened in 2013.
First came news of flights on the route between Riga and Prague to be opened from January 1, 2013, next came news on the route between Riga and Hungary's Sarmellek International Airport to start from May 4, 2013, and now the carrier has announced the third new seasonal flight.
Effective from April 6, 2013, airBaltic will offer flights between Riga and Larnaca, in Cyprus, as part of the next summer schedule.
While reluctant with opening flights to significant new destinations due to the current restraints on the carrier that is undergoing a thorough cost-cutting program, airBaltic is instead focusing on new seasonal flights to attract primarily tourist passengers - and retain its formerly high profile in the market.
