Dec 21, 2012 (newstodate): Changes may come around in Ukraine's commercial aviation in 2013.
According to industry sources, Ukraine International Airlines will take over most flights now provided by the country's other airline Aerosvit.
This will see UIA take over flights from Ukraine to destinations including Copenhagen and Stockholm now served by Aerosvit that is reportedly in dire financial problems.
Eventually, UIA may take over Aerosvit's aircraft fleet under a wet-lease contract, while Aerosvit will be relegated to serve as a marketing unit only.
The ownership structures of the two airlines as well as their actual interaction also seem to be rather nontransparent, sources say.
