Nov 29, 2012 (newstodate): Plans for establishing a new JAT Airlines to replace the existing Serb carrier have reportedly now been scrapped.
In just another volte-face, the plan is now again to redevelop the existing carrier, bolstering it with sufficient state aid to shake off its debts pile, equip it with a renovated fleet and continue business on a new model.
A task-force has been set up to turn around the carrier, preparing for a re-launch from the coming summer schedule.
Plans are to finalize an order for delivery of four Airbus A319 and four ATR72-600 aircraft by March 2013 and start negotiations for delivery of four Airbus A320 aircraft by 2015, according to industry sources.
