Nov 23, 2012 (newstodate): Dissatisfied with increased airport charges, Ryanair has announced a drastic cut in routes and frequencies at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport.
Stepping in after the demise of Malev, Ryanair set up Budapest as a new base by early 2012, stationing five Boeing 737 aircraft at the airport to offer flights to Alicante, Baden Baden, Barcelona, Birmingham, Bologna, Bristol, Brussels, Chania, Dublin, Eindhoven, Gothenburg, Hamburg, Krakow, London, Madrid, Malaga, Manchester, Milan, Munich West, Oslo, Palma, Paphos, Paris, Pisa, Rhodes, Rome, Stockholm, Thessaloniki, Trapani, Venice, and Warsaw.
Now Ryanair is to cut flights to 10 destinations while pulling two aircraft away from Budapest.
Among the destinations to be cut from January 10, 2013, are Oslo and Krakow.
