Nov 08, 2012 (newstodate): Plans for a future Serb airline to replace the existing debt-ridden JAT are now maturing.
A new airline, JAT Serbian Airlines will be established before the end of this year and launch flights from the start of the summer schedule 2013, sources say.
The new carrier will take delivery of four Airbus A319 aircraft in March 2013, with four ATR 72 aircraft to follow in fall 2013, all on a financial lease contract with IFLC.
Further down the line will be a contract with Airbus for delivery of four Airbus A320 aircraft by 2015.
The new airline will take over the assets of the existing airline including slots, equipment and part of the staff - but relieved of the debts burdening JAT today.
