Nov 01, 2012 (newstodate): As a result of the JV between SAS and Singapore Airlines concerning air traffic between Singapore and Scandinavia, Singapore Airlines is to increase frequency on the code-shared route from March 31, 2013, to five weekly rotations.
The two airlines signed the MoU on the formation of the JV on January 12, 2012, later formally establishing the JV in May 2012.
This JV has now obtained approval by fhe Competition Commission of Singapore.
The partnership is expected to lead to growth in existing air services between Singapore and Scandinavia, and, subject to market conditions at the appropriate time, pave the way for a new route between Singapore and Stockholm.
SIA currently operates three weekly flights between Singapore and Copenhagen in a code-share partnership with SAS since December 2010.
