Nov 26, 2012 (newstodate): As Estonian Air is to rein in its air services from the start of 2013, another carrier is seeing fresh opportunities in filling the void.
The carrier is Ryanair that is already operating from Tallinn Airport, offering flights to three destinations London, Oslo and Milan after having itself cut routes from the start of the winter schedule.
Among new services to be offered from Tallinn Airport will reportedly be flights to Stockholm, Dusseldorf, and Dublin, but more announcements are expected as plans for the summer schedule are revealed from early next year.
Starting from December 13, 2010, Ryanair launched flights from Tallinn to Oslo, Stockholm, Milan, Dusseldorf, Dublin, London and Edinburgh, later adding Bremen and Barcelona and other destinations.
During the 2012 summer schedule, Ryanair has been operating flights from Tallinn Airport to up to 10 destinations.
With 20 percent of the Estonian market, Ryanair is the second-largest operator at Tallinn Airport, after Estonian Air holding 40 percent of the traffic, but this picture is to change dramatically from early 2013.
