Nov 05, 2012 (newstodate): The Italian carrier Blue Panorama is in problems - and that may spill over to the Russian commercial aircraft, the Superjet 100.
Blue Panorama has filed for protection against creditors as a first step towards a bankruptcy, and a restructuring process is now been considered.
At stake is also the fate of the 12 Superjet 100 aircraft ordered by the carrier on June 22, 2011.
The order comprises eight firm deliveries and four options, with the first aircraft slated for delivery in 2013.
A total of 246 Superjet 100 aircraft are now on firm orders, with options for a further 104 units.
But in 2012, only one carrier has placed orders for the aircraft - Transaero that signed up for six aircraft plus 10 options on June 21.
