Nov 15, 2012 (newstodate): Avion Capital Partners, based in Switzerland, is to grow its portfolio of Airbus aircraft further in 2013.
In the fleet and on the company's AOC are now six Airbus A320 and one Airbus A319 aircraft, all operating in the European ACMI market including two Airbus A320 with the Icelandic LCC, WOW Air.
-I wouldn't be surprised if we will have up to 11-12 Airbus A320 Family aircraft in the fleet by summer 2013, says David Masson, Avion Capital Partners.
-We have entered the ACMI market as the cyclical aviation business is generally in a down-turn period forcing many airlines to downsize their aircraft fleets which in turn bring about a need for flexibility in matching volatile markets demands. And we have been lucky enough to be matching these demands with our resources, securing profitable operations with our Airbus fleet.
-We have good business relations with a variety of airlines and are not overly dependent on just one of two operators which I consider is indeed a good thing for us. Right now we are positioning the A319 in the European ACMI and charter market with an all-business class configuration targeting special assignments in the sports and cultural markets, says Mr Masson.
In April 2011, the company acquired its first Airbus A320 placed on Lithuanian registry and operated by the Lithuanian carrier Avion Express on a Lithuanian AOC
Avion Capital Partners was set up in 2009 by David Masson, initially functioning as a management consultancy to Avion Aircraft Trading.
In 2010, Avion Express was acquired by the French investment company Eyjafjoll SAS, formed by Avion Capital Partners of Switzerland along with strategic industry investors.
