Nov 22, 2012 (newstodate): With a slight delay, Copenhagen Airport has now presented its cargo figures for June 2012.
A total of 32,202 tonnes of cargo was handled at Copenhagen in June - an impressive increase by 16.8 percent, y-o-y.
-A great performance, but statistics should indeed be taken with a big grain of salt, says Lars Korup, Copenhagen Airport.
-The jump in volumes was actually generated by Emirates SkyCargo that temporarily shifted freighter operations to Copenhagen Airport due to runway maintenance at Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, its usual Scandinavian destination. After three weeks in June, flights were again returned to Sweden.
The June totals included 3,651 tonnes of import cargo, 5,756 tonnes of exports and 22,595 tonnes of transfer cargo.
After the first half-year 2012, Copenhagen Airport thus landed at a total of 166,310 tonnes of cargo, an increase by 3.5 percent, y-o-y.
During January-June 2012, the airport handled 21,481 tonnes of imports, 30,331 tonnes of exports and 114,497 tonnes of transfer cargo.
