Nov 23, 2012 (newstodate): The Gulf LCC flydubai is developing the most dense route network connecting the Gulf region with East Europe, Russia and the CIS.
The strategy produced the first route opening into these markets with flights between Dubai and Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 22, 2009.
Since then, flydubai has launched flights to 16 destinations in 11 countries in these regions, making flydubai also the only airline operating scheduled flights from Dubai to Belgrade, Skopje, Bishkek, Kharkiv, Donetsk and Tbilisi.
With 27 Boeing 737-800 aircraft in the fleet, flydubai now operates flights from Dubai to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Ukraine.
One of the first low-cost operators in the world to focus on air cargo, flydubai also launched flydubai Cargo from January 1, 2012, now offering cargo services alongside the low-cost passenger sales.
