Nov 07, 2012 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo remains the undisputed leader in its home market, but still dipped in volumes in September 2012.
According to the CASS statistics, Finnair saw its export volumes down by 21.4 percent, y-o-y, to 1,332 tonnes in September - significantly more than the over-all decline in the market by 8.4 percent to 3,248 tonnes.
The carrier's market share thus fell to 41 percent, comfortably positioned over its closest competitor in September, Lufthansa Cargo with 10.4 percent market share after dropping 5.2 percent in volumes to 339 tonnes.
The largest gain was secured by #5, Korean Air Cargo with an increase by 222.9 percent to 165 tonnes, while Finnair's decline was the largest, percentage-wise.
Also down was SAS Cargo with 125 tonnes, declining 7.2 percent and #6 on the top-10 list.
